It is also known as an anti-vortex plate. It is an accessory found in the part where the hydrophore sucks from the tank, especially in water tanks where powerful pumps such as fire pumps suck.
The vortex plate is used to prevent the vortex that occurs when fire pumps suck water.
The oxygen released during this vortex sticks to the pump impeller and prevents the pump from sending water at sufficient flow and pressure. This situation is prevented thanks to the vortex plate.
The vortex plate connection set includes 1 flange to which the hydrophore suction is connected, a downward return elbow and an anti-vortex plate at the bottom.
